Anime Dinner by Trheewood does what it says on the tin, populating the familiar structure of The Last Supper with an eclectic mix of anime characters. Studio Ghibli characters, to be exact. It’s impressive for one studio to have so much range that despite that limitation, it still feels so varied. I especially like the way creatures of all sizes (from a tiny Borrower perched at the table’s edge to a robot so long his stretched arms reach halfway across the table and even to Howl’s Moving Castle captured through a window) are all arranged in a way that feels natural. It’s well-illustrated, and so packed with detail that fans of the genre will appreciate spending time with the art and remembering all the characters.
