Kill Maki by Chow Hon lam is a brilliant take on Kill Bill, transforming the iconic yellow jumpsuit from the movie into a bright yellow tomago sushi roll. There’s a strong similarity in the yellow color and dark stripe, as well as the height of the roll when stood up like this. Meanwhile, the endless faceless enemy henchmen become the most ubiquitous type of sushi, the nondescript maki roll. The swords are straight out of the movie, but also suit sushi well- their ingredients are always being chopped up, after all. I also like that it seems to introduce the idea of what might happen if you slice a maki roll in half horizontally- would it just add one new enemy to fight?
