Pampling’s Van Gone

Van Gone by WillyWonka has a great concept, using Van Gogh’s famous self-portrait as the basis for a sweet pun. As the language shifts from Van Gogh to Van Going and then Van Gone, Van Gogh appears to back out of the portrait until all that’s left is an empty background. But while I love the idea, I think the execution misses a few tricks. The background uses a canvas-like texture and beige coloring, but would feel more fun to look at if it used the artist’s trademark swirly brushstrokes and light blue or sunflower yellow shades. So for me, while very wearable as-is, the design could stand to be improved.
