Black Catfee by kooky love does such a great job of implying motion. The angle of the spill looks like it flies forward at speed, with long lines of liquid showing the power of that action. And of course, those long dribbles are also perfectly shaped for a cat’s paws. With those wide open eyes the cat looks a bit guilty to me, as though he might have caused the spill in addition to embodying the spill. This impression reflects the character of a curious cat well, making him both the cause of chaos and clumsy victim of it. The artist smartly keeps the mug very minimal so that all eyes are on the cat, but there’s nice work happening in that section, too. Dark lines give just enough definition to make the shape of the mug pop, with subtle shadow and highlights contributing to the effect. Really nice work!
