Do Right by whackochacko is my favorite Threadless print this week. It’s the winner of the Black History Month design challenge, and what I love about it is the way that although it clearly references history in its use of a Martin Luther King, Jr. quote, the emphasis is very much on celebrating the increased progress that can be made on civil rights issues today. With bright colors, expressive poses, and playfully arranged text, this piece points out that doing the right thing isn’t just morally correct, it can also be aspirational and even a lot of fun. This is a design that moves the eye as you hunt for the next line of the slogan, and delivers value at every turn with details (the hairstyles! the way elements overlap! those rad shoes!) that are fun to discover. Really nice work!
Threadless prints new shirts every week, chosen from the designs submitted by and voted on by site members. Most winners earn $1 to $7 per item sold.
