Peace Art by Steppeua is my favorite Threadless print this week. It’s a clever concept expressed in a playful, minimal style, with the hand’s peace sign replaced with a broken pencil. The idea feels exciting because it’s not just a vague endorsement of peace, it gives context to it by using a symbol of work and creation. You immediately get the message that an effort toward peace is being made, that plans are being pencilled in and creative solutions are being pursued. The uniformity and thickness of the lines used, along with the small dashes of emphasis, remind me of a modern take on the look pioneered by Keith Haring. Very cool!
Threadless prints new shirts every week, chosen from the designs submitted by and voted on by site members. Most winners earn $1 to $7 per item sold.
